19th annual 5K charity road race Walter's Run set for Dec. 9 in West Roxbury |

Walter’s Run, a 19-year-old 5K charity run, will race through West Roxbury streets next month. The event will kick off Sunday, Dec. 9, with a free, non-competitive youth race for ages 10 and under at 10:40 a.m. The less-than-1K “Little Kid’s Race” is overseen by Santa Claus, and participants receive a ribbon and candy cane from the big-bearded jolly man in red.

Girls on the Run 5K set for December 8 |

Baton Rouge -- Run Louisiana - Girls on the Run 5K, powered by W. Higgins Adventure & Events, will take place at 9 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 8 on the grounds of the Pennington Biomedical Research Center, 6400 Perkins Road in Baton Rouge. Over 1,500 runners, volunteers and spectators are expected to attend the event.
